How are ceramic coatings applied?
Applying a ceramic coating requires careful preparation and attention to detail. At First Stop Auto Detailing, we prepare your vehicle’s paint before application to support proper bonding and a consistent finish.
Here’s a breakdown of our ceramic coating installation process.
A quality ceramic coating starts with proper paint preparation. We begin with a thorough exterior wash and decontamination process, including iron removal and clay treatment as needed to remove embedded contaminants from your vehicle’s paint.
Once your vehicle is clean, we inspect the paint to identify swirl marks, scratches, and other imperfections. Based on its condition, we recommend an appropriate approach and discuss realistic results.
Our included paint enhancement improves gloss and reduces minor imperfections. Additional paint correction options are available to address more noticeable defects where safely possible. We’ll discuss any recommended upgrades with you before proceeding.
After polishing, we use a dedicated surface preparation solution to remove oils and residue. We then carefully apply the ceramic coating and allow it to cure under suitable conditions according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Before collection, we explain any remaining curing precautions and care requirements.
